Grimp Goes Fishing

Post by [JiF][AARP]Grimp »

I missed fishing. In younger years that is all I would do.

This year I decided I was going to fish. So I have been out a couple times.

This was from yesterday’s trip to Quabbin Reservoir in Mass. Largest body of relatively clean fresh water in the state.
I heard they have big fish there.
I seem to remember fish being bigger though.

Actually I was after some yummy trout and did get one.

I did a lot of fishing when I was younger, then I moved to places where it is hard to find anyplace to fish. Down south it was so swampy you needed a boat. Not much water in Ohio except for a few rivers.

Looks like you had fun.

No excuses :) Go fish.

Ya, it was fun to get at it again. Two trips I got my wife to go. She sat and read. Thinks it's too boring.
Last trip Doc and one of my daughters came along. I taught them everything I know so Doc caught about 4 or 5 tiny fish. My daughter caught rocks and trees. Anyone can catch big fish. Catching fish smaller than your bait is a real skill. Tree trout and rock trout fishing takes advanced techniques. You need to be able to fool them by casting in a certain direction and have it go completely the opposite way catching them off guard.
Just happy to pass on my knowledge to the next generation :)

Hey nice your going fishing again Grimp. I love it too but only get a chance to go once a year on our annual trip. Here's some pics I of our trip the other week. Last day we caught 11 Walley and 20 nice sized perch. Love having Fish Fry's, so damn nummy!
