Origin IDs

Since BF3 requires Origin to be able to play the game and I don't think there is a concept of groups like Steam has, we might as well get the ball rolling and collect each other's Origin ID (same as your EA ID of your EA account) so that we have each other in our friends list. Keep in mind that the Origin/EA ID will be the same name you're referred to in BF3 and it cannot be changed.

You mean I can't just go to Best Buy buy and install the game and pick a server and play like normal. What is this Origin ID you speak of?

Of course you can old chap!
Origin is EA's new Steam. The EA store is no more!
Your Origin ID is your old EA games ID. So whatever you signed up to EA with it will be the same. So it is the ID you had for log in on BFBC2.

From what I have read/heard, even if you buy a physical copy of BF3, you will still be required to install and login to Origin. As of now you will not be able to buy BF3 through steam for digital distribution, only through EA's Origin online service.

Unlike Steam where you can change your name, there's no other way to change it other then contacting EA support. They give you a one time name change so make sure it's a good one and have a few other choices incase yours is already taken. Hit the help on origin and it will take you to Live Chat or click this link: http://support.ea.com/app/chat/livechat_landing .

I've tried to search for all of your Origin IDs but it keeps saying "no match"... Im guessing there might be something wrong or it may be taking a different ID.
