Hey I just made a human cleric on khyber named chlant, if you need somethign else for the party though I could draw up another character.

Armor proficiency depends on the class you choose, but you can take a feat to learn it.

It could be interesting to look after heavier armor than you are allowed to wear, made from mithral or darkwood. These armors count as one step lighter. For example: a mithral breastplate is a light armor and so can be worn be bards or rangers.
