Banned???

i looked into that pb ban. just type "how unbann punkbuster bf1942" and u should find some info on goolge. it seems like it is possible to get unbanned but ull have to do allot of stuff. they also say if u were pb banned then u wouldnt be able to join any pb enabled game

Latest update. I was on the training server for 20-30 min with my virus scan off and never lost packets or got kicked. I'm pretty sure that was the cause of me being banned. Now the question is who or what banned me. I am guessing it was Punkbuster, but like FrenchAfroman says "they also say if u were pb banned then u wouldnt be able to join any pb enabled game". Where do I go from here?

What is your IP? We do have a couple of IP bans.
Try changing your name and see if you can get on.

Have you looked at the Punkbuster logfies?
They are normally in c:\windows\system32\Logfiles\Punkbuster
I dont know about the server logfiles , maybe they are in the same location on the server.

I just looked at them, but nothing looks unusual. They just say the same thing over and over.

Hi Graham,

These logs look different from mine.
In your logs the exe files are copied to the windows system32 folder but on my machine the A & B programs run as windows services.
I would suggest reinstalling PB with the latest version and also running the PB setup tool so that the PB programs run as windows services.

I was once stuck in a ban loop on Collective Conspiracy and it ended up something to do with punkbuster on the server end (at least from what i was told) this was several years back though and my recollection is fuzzy. Graham, perhaps you could have a local PB corruption that is causing an issue? Maybe try a reinstall to a different folder as a test to eliminate that possibility?

Thank you for your efforts (everyone). If you don't find anything on the server end I guess I'll try a reload/install. Also I'm running Win2K Pro. Would that make my PB logs look different from Shellshocked's? My biggest question is why does this only happen on the Jiff server? I am fine on other PB servers and on the training server. How much snow did you get up there? We only got half an inch down here in NJ. When there isn't any decent skiing around I don't even want to see half an inch of snow any more .

I've changed a few things on the training server. I'm going to use it to try and eliminate some things. Please to to connect to it and let me know what happens. We'll keep doing this till I run out of ideas or until the ban show up there. This will help me identify where the problem lies. It will probably take some time though...

I'll try playing with myself on the training server for ya (that did'nt come out right ) I just don't have or see where to get the speedracer and easter island maps. I only have the artillary training, bootcamp and 1stAD_LW training maps. Thanks again to everyone for their help. I did manually update PB but the ban is still in effect.

I've removed your ban, so next map change you should be able to get back in. It looks like it was a server auto-ban as there was no reason given. Let me know what happens!
