MCSE

Post by [JiF]EA »

I know there are a bunch of tech guys on these forums...so I have a quick question. I have my a+ certification, and my freshman year of college I took all general classes (Math, english etc.) I am already enrolled in deeper computer information systems classes for the fall, but I'm not sure of exactly what I would need aside from a degree to pursue a networking/IT career. Would I have to get Microsoft certification, and if so, what's the most effecient way to go about obtaining it. Any help would be great, thanks guys.
I'm working on solving the gas crisis.

MCSE or MCSA are both good to have, but most employers also want some experience too (not just a "paper cert").
You can get em with a "boot camp" approach, but I got mine (MCSE) by getting a training CD and going to all the braindump sites before each test.
It really helps to know the format of the questions. I even saw questions that were identical to the braindump.

Cisco certifications are good to have too, but the tests are a lot harder.

Might also want to look ar CWNA (Certified Wireless Network Admin). The test was pretty easy.
The only drawback is you have to re-certify every few years.
