I'm looking for a Geforce 6600 or better videocard cheap if possible, less than $100.00.

I might have one that fits the bill, I'll take a look when I get home.

AGP VideoCard

Post by [JiF] General WarHawk »

Query: Anyone have an AGP card that according to all the specs doesn't melt itself a new one.

All the ones they are selling nowadays on Newegg seem to practically heat up so much you need to replace the whole stock cooling with a totally new cooler.

I'm looking to get as high as 256mb of memory. Right now I have 64mb on what is basically the thing DELL offered for an upgrade to it's onboard cause they didn't put onboard video on this particular model.

I actually can't remember where i put it.
I have 2 working desktop PC's and 2 old ones in the garage.
One of those has it .......or maybe it's in a drawer somewhere.
Maybe i should get GPS coordintes before i stash anything away.

When i get home i will look for it and post here what i find.

BTW- Odd how this thread started out with me wanting an AGP card, now i'm looking for one to give away.

Odd but true corn. Sometimes you get the opposite of what you wish for.

I'd like to get something in the neighborhood of 256 to 512mb. I'm getting too much jitter playing BF lately. I turned off all Lightmaps, Shadows, and decreased my resolution to 800X600 at 32 (tried 16, but it really blew), and i'm still jittery. What's sad is, I put 2GB of OCZ CL2 memory into this old machine that I got for $25 from Light and Leisure the Purple Building (they sold Lamps locally here) From the guy who did the ads no less. "Bring your cash in, while we're slashin!" Had to replace the fan, and rubberband it to the CPU heatsink cause it won't fit on the case thing. But the jitters are driving me nuts.

Oh if you've noticed the reviews, HIS Tech blows. Something majorly wrong with them, lots of D.O.A. cards and such.
ATI has lousy driver and tech support, and on and on and on.
