Video Display Probs in BF1942

Post by [JiF]LtWaterboy »

Guys,

need ur help.

had to replace my Radeon 9800 PRO 128MB vid card.
had to get a Radeon 9550 256MB one (dont ask why!).

now, in BF42, my display is messed up. the words/letters are all "distorted". words are hard to read (peoples' chat, commands, etc).
I've tried almost every optical setting in the game options, but it doesnt seem to get any better with any of them.

I have a Dell Ultrasharp 1905 flat panel (if this helps).

I'm using ATI Catalyst version 7.4.

Any thoughts on which settings or adjustments on any of these?

ps. and please dont say. 'go get a better video card!'.... that's not help!!! ;)

tanxs.

Go to your video card settings and see if you have "anti alias" enabled. If so, disable, then try. There is also a fix by rewriting some values in a .con file, but I forget which and where...

I was having that problem too and kinda ignored it figuring there was nothing I could do about it, I'll try this method and see if it works for me!

Ya, I did too on an LCD. You can also use the ATI GUI thingy to force 60 MHZ refresh rate for full screen games. That helped me.
I think keeping the resolution low helped too. Maybe 800 X 600 or 1024 X 768 helped also. I kinda like having some anti-aliasing on to get rid of some of the saw tooth.

hmmm.... :?

My looks back to normal (very good) w/o AA.
I use on my ATI Catalyst the setting, 'let application choose' or something titled like this...

No Legos here....
