Getting the wife a camera for mama's day

Post by [JiF]bigjohnson »

So my wife's camera is about two years old and time for an upgrade (DX4330). I'm a kodak Easyshare who-er, so I do like the kodaks and they're my first choice. She really wanted a zoom function and a big display. I'm thinking the Z612 with the G600 printer dock (the old one is like 4 years old, the reason why she has a DX4330) the Z612 has some pretty good reviews, I was going to go with Z710/ G500 bundle but the Z710 had mixed reviews. My budget is around $300 for printer dock and camera and the Z612/G600 is $320. Any thoughts?

I just got the Canon Powershot A550:

Very, very happy with it. 4x optical zoom. Nice, big display (plus it has an optical viewfinder which I consider to be key). It's small enough that you can carry it but big enough you're not gonna lose it. It obviously doesn't come with a dock so you would have to spend a bit more especially since it also only comes with a 16 meg SD card and no case. Incredible reviews all round.

Oh. Also Amazon has a deal for $50 off if you get a printer. But that might not work if ya need it by Sunday.

Got the G500 printer, extra 50 pack picture/ink, free 512MB PNY SDcard, and the z612 for $330 at JR.com my mom used to got to NYC and buy camera stuff there. NICE.
