Server problems

Post by [JiF]DaftGeordie »

Just thought you might like to know fellas, a few weeks ago I was having problems on the server....everytime the map changed I got dumped to my desktop.
After a few days of pulling my hair out (I don't have much anyway LOL) I tracked the problem down to a faulty DVD drive. Seems as though everytime a new map loads it must have to detect the BF1942 disc in your DVD player.
I installed what is called a no cd crack, and the game runs just fine now without the need to have a cd in your player ( if anyone needs a link to this download just give me a shout )
I have since bought a new DVD player/writer to install any other games when I need to.
Hope this info might come in usefull to anyone else that may be getting a similar problem.
Cheers Daft :papa:

That "no cd" solution works well.
There is another post on this somewhere where Grimp gives the details for this.

It is a little tricky getting past the copy protection on the disk, but well worth it.
