Living in Belgium this summer

I'm gonna live in Belgium from June 19th to August 4th.

Me, my sister and my mom have a disease called ME/CFS. Our doctor, Kenny De Meirleir, has worked with ME in 15 years or so.
In January, Kenny spoke of a new medication that he was 90% sure would cure my mom & sister. It was still in test state then.

In may, Kenny said that the "cure" is ready for us. He lives in Belgium, and is only in Norway one time a month. But they have to inject the "cure" 1 time a week.
So our choices were to fly down 1 day, each week. Or to live there the time it takes:
The cheapest way was to live there.

My mom and sister already left on May 31st, and I'll fly to them on the 19th.
We found an apartment, cheap flight tickets, and friends to watch our cat in under two weeks! Like it was meant to be

When we get home, we'll get a new computer, my mom and sister will be "cured", and hopefully me too.
My mom has been sick for about 3 years, my sister 2, and I've been for under a year. I'm not nearly as sick as my mom & sister, because it took a while before they understood that they actually had a disease, but when I began to feel the symptoms, we started straight away.

I know a few people with ME & know how debilitating it can be. My boss's daughter had to have a baby delivered on Friday by C section because she has ME & the doctors would not let her have a natural birth.
A friend 2 doors away has suffered for many years but continues to fight against it.
I hope & pray that your cure works for your family.
I was talking to a friend today who has had a very traumatic time lately with a heart problem. He is not yet 30 but is suffering from a problem with heart valves. He is very in to reading about health problems & the body & mind. He spoke very much along the lines of conscious & sub-conscious mind. The conscious mind controls everything, but the sub-conscious works in the background unknown. He told me that the sub-conscious works on how we react to illness & recovery. He said that normally the body deals with sickness in the sub-conscious, but a positive conscious was vital. If you believe that things will work & your body will get better, then you are far more likely to recover.
I thought about how this related to me & my broken leg. I realised that because I have been very positive about my recovery & how I was determined to get back to normal as soon as possible, I am recovering faster than expected. My Consultant was astounded by the recovery of my movement in my leg after such a short time. There were clear signs of my bones healing back together already.
My message is to be positive in your thoughts, that you can beat this & be well again.

We've tried to stay positive while having ME, but it's pretty hard. Especially for my mom.

Our dad died when I was two years old. My mom started to feel ill about 4/3 years ago, and didn't know what it was. Then my sister got ill and my mom had to take care of her, then I got ill and she had to take care of me too. But no-one has ever taken care of my mom.

My sister has had some very close friends, and a boyfriend who has been with her for 4 years now.
For about 3 years ago, my sister had less energy than her friends, and 2 years ago we knew she had ME. Her boyfriend is very cool , and has been with her during the start of the "party age". And has been a great help for my sister.
(He's the one I've been talking about hosting concerts, if you remember. 4 times now) He's 18, and my sister 17.

When my mom started to feel ill, she studied for some homeopathic things, and we weren't at our "richest" days.
Around christmas, 2009 it looked pretty bad. Because all three of us were under treatment, and that costs very much. We get no help from the health things in Norway, because they will only cover some of our treatments if there isn't any other way to treat ME. And right now "Lightning Process" is the treatment.

Lightning Process is based on ONLY staying positive. Hanging notes on doors saying "I am not sick", etc. But this is a disease, being positive will help you through it, but won't cure you alone.

Wow Cesar , that is such a moving story. my heart goes out to you and your family. You certainly have a positive attitude , you have always been a positive influence in the BF game and with your sense of humour in your posts. Your mom and sister must be very proud of you and I'm sure that you lift their spirits.
I really hope that the Belgium trip will help you all and please let us know how it turns out.

I'm leaving tomorrow... have to wake up at 6:30am


I will be getting the same treatment as my mom & sister.

I will have to inject Nexavir daily, B12 each other day & the "cure" one time a week..... 11/12 needles each week

I've begun to react at noise now. If someone's talking, I'm thinking of something & there's some bad music on TV that I don't like, I'll have to rest a bit before I can do anything again
