My wifey got herself a new laptop last week.
When she brought it home, after her boss had configured it for her, she found to her horror that it would not connect to the internet.
So I checked that everything seemed to be set exactly the same as mine, but oh no it wasn't having any of it.
To try everything I got hold of a new router

I suddenly had a flash of inspiration. So I pinged the TS server & got a response. Ah ha thinks I! I am getting through the router to the net using an IP address. So off I goes & checks the DNS settings. Bob's your uncle, her boss had hard coded his work IP address for DNS!!! For a mobile machine?????
In two shakes of a lamb's tail I was the best thing since sliced bread.
Anyway to cut a long story short, the router has wireless n on it so I'm communicating at more than double the speed with the new one. My ping has dropped from about 120 most of the time to around the 100 mark now.
